
One of the coolest things about running a local business is how easy it is to get clients using ads.
It’s actually really easy once you know what you’re doing.
The reason why is because you’re competing only against the other local options.
I see a lot of local businesses and they say ‘we are a local plumber’ ‘we’re an electrician’, ‘we’re a roofers’ etc.
The only thing you have to do to win against the absolute vast majority of people is to tweak the language a little bit and say ‘I’m a Norfolk electrician’ or a ‘London plumber’ or a ‘Kent roofer’ or wherever you are.
Just like that with one little tweak, you stand out because everyone that is looking for a local person, really wants to make sure they’re a local person.
They don’t want a big chain, they don’t want some guy 200 miles from them , they want a local person.
Just by saying ‘I’m based here in the same place that you are in’ creates a bond that really helps connect people to you.
So if you’re running ads and you really want local clients; put your location in the ad. It helps so much.
I’ve had plenty of clients that have had enormous upticks in response and leads and eyeballs, just by making that one change.
